Geneva to Berner Oberland

After a meeting in Geneva I will have 2 more days in the city. I am wondering about the efficacy of a day trip by train to Berner Oberland. Is the train ride itself scenic? Would it make more sense to go to Lausanne or Bern for the day?
Thanks, Carolyn

Head out of the city as fast as you can and go to the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Spend your 2 extra days (or at least 1 of them) there.

Carolyn, Visiting the Berner Oberland for a couple of days is a great idea! The trip from Geneva to Interlaken Ost is about 2H:43M, often with one change in Bern. From Interlaken Ost, you can take the local train to Lauterbrunnen, and from there to whichever town you want to stay in (Mürren is a big favourite). Happy travels!
