We will be in Geneva, Switzerland for four nights in July 2011. We are looking for affordable (less than $200 a night) lodging in a safe neighborhood with easy access to public transportation. My husband's meetings will be at the Palexpo and I will be on my own each day to do touring.

We stayed at the Admiral, not far from the Rail station. It is in the small red light district, though never saw any activity like that in the hotel. The area is quite innocuos. Anywhere in Geneva (or Switzerland for that matter) is quite safe from what we have seen. Only large city that we have not been to is Berne where I have heard there is sometimes a drug problem.

Hello, I will be in Geneva in August for 4 days staying at the Hotel Central. One of our party stayed there last summer and insisted that we book there for our trip. It's centrally located, clean, and family run.
