Thus is our second trip to France with our Garmin. We cannot get the Garmin to leave the US maps, and load our French addresses and French maps. We have all of the current downloads... Any ideas?
Yes, my Garmin has the full set of North American and European maps... I just am unable to get the Garmin to leave North America and focus on our current location in France.
Do you have to set a new location or "home" when you travel so far from your usual haunts?
Thank you to everyone for the help. I went outside again and rechecked the bars on the screen. For some reason, I was not getting good reception even being outdoors. I changed my outdoor location, and gave the Garmin additional time to locate the satellites. The adjustment was successful! Part of the problem may also have been that we have just traveled almost five thousand miles since our last GPS usage, and it took the unit more time to adjust to the new location... This was the first time that I have ever had a problem with outside reception. Thank you again for the assistance!
That's why I asked what I did. I know how to use the system, but my TomTom always needs a few more minutes to get situated after a long plane trip. Didn't know if it was the same for Garmin.
