Nothing important, but when my mom and I took the chunnel to London last September she said she saw a sign above the escalator while going down to the train. It said something like "Now leaving the land of Napoleon and entering the land of Nelson." I have no memory of this whatsoever.
Can anyone tell me if that's correct?
I've been there three times and never seen such a sign. Mind you, I did prefer leaving from Waterloo to Paris though.
I've never noticed such a thing and, TBH, it doesn't sound very likely.
It sounds like something you'd read in one of those emails that goes around. You know the sort, the title is something like "FW:FW:FW:Too funny!!!!!!" or "FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:You must read this!!!!!!" (multiple exclamation marks a must.)
Waterloo station is no longer the London terminus -- it is now St Pancras.
