What's the best way to get between these two stations without walking?

Taxi may work but they are so close the taxi driver may be reluctant. They are directly opposite each other across the Seine. There are no direct RER or Métro connections. If you use either RER or Métro you will be walking into the station, walking for the connection and walking out. I expect that the walking that way would be at least as far as walking across the river.

Bus No. 57 (Direction "Laplace") will take you from Gare de Lyon to Austerlitz. As for where pick it up, inquire at the information booth in the station.
