We will be doing the Germany - Austria - Switzerland trip this fall and I'm wondering if the hotels/pensions visited on this tour have hairdryers in the guest rooms? Anyone have advise on whether or not to bring a small dual voltage hairdryer along on this trip?
I looked at the websites for the places we plan to stay, and all say they provide hair dryers. So mine is staying home. If the website doesn't say you can always send an email and ask. I figure if any of the information is wrong I can go to a store in the city I'm visiting and buy one with a European plug. Then I'll be forced to go back so I can use it again.
Hair dryers are very common. If not in the room, should be able to get one from the registration desk.
We have done this trip and we had hair dryers everywhere we stayed. I'm sure you will have a great time. We also did this trip in the fall and weather was almost perfect.
Thanks for the input, everyone!
Just be prepared that the hairdryers in the hotels vary and are not like the one you own. Many are built into the wall and some even look like vacuum hoses! Had fun with those! They seem to all use alot less energy than ours.Less airlow. We are not so energy concious are we?
And they can only be used in the bathrooms-so coordinate with fellow travelers..
My favorite tour! I think hair dryers were in all hotels except one. Just returned from France and all hotels except one had hair dryers. I never pack one.
Kathy - I took this wonderful tour last fall. Every hotel except 1 (I think it was Saltzburg) had a hairdryer. If you don't see one, ask at the desk. Hope you have a great time!
