Fussen train connection

I'm trying to determine which train station I need from Munich to Fussen (to get to Neuschwanstein). Thanks.

The train leaves from Munich Hbf once an hour and takes around 2 hours to get there.

Also: do not type "Fussen" when searching train schedules - type "Fuessen", or if you're so inclined, type an umlaut. "Fussen" is actually a different word.

Better, assuming you are using the Bahn website, http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en, put in 'Munich Hbf' to 'Hohenschwangau'. That way it will show the bus schedule from the Fuessen Bahnhof to the castles at Hohenschwangau, as well.

The bus leaves from the other side of the parking lot (Bus stop #2) in front of the Fuessen Bahnhof a few minutes after the train arrives. The ticket kiosk in Hohenschwangau is just up the hill, around the corner from where the bus stops in Hohenschwangau.

If you are using a €27 Bayern-Ticket, you catch the 9:51 train (first one after 9 am, bus arriving Hohenschwangau at 12:13) leaving from track 27 in the Starnberger Flügelbahnhof at the north side of the main station. If you want to leave earlier, at 8:52 (arriving Hohenschwangau at 11:13), buy single trip tickets to Geltendorf @ €6,60 each and use the Bayern-Ticket from there.

The €27 Bayern-Ticket covers up to 5 people. There is also a Bayern-Ticket-Single for 1 person at €19. Details at www.bayern-takt.de.
