Title says it all ;) We are thinking of driving from Fussen to Varenna, Italy, via Austria and Switzerland in mid-October. I keep coming across threads regarding what a wonderful, scenic drive this is, but am worried about the mid-October timeframe regarding weather conditions. The route will take us past Imst, Austria, and St. Moritz, Switzerland to give you an idea. Thank you!

"worried about the mid-October timeframe regarding weather conditions." Nothing to worry about. The only snow you will likely see will lie over 1,000 meters or more above you. Just be aware that driving through both Switzerland and Austria will require the purchase of a vignette sticker for each country. And expect to pay a hefty drop off fee if you rent a car in Germany and finish with it in Italy.
