Fuessen to Prague to Frankfurt

Hi! I am looking into going to Prague from Fuessen and staying there for 2 nights before going back to Frankfurt. What is the cheapest way of travelling? I don't drive so train is my only option. I tried going to the bahn website but the stations in Prague seem to have different names....which is confusing. I am travelling with another person. Thanks!

You will be traveling to Prague Hauptbahnhof (main train station). I checked Deutsche Bahn website. One of the easy connection is 8:06 from Fuessen to Munich by train then by direct nonstop bus operated by Deutsche Bahn to Prague. In Prague at 17:39. There are many more connections usually with more than one change. DB website will also inform you about price of the ticket depending on the date of your travel.

Is that the nearest station to nerudovo 48 historical centre? And thanks for the help! :)

That's the station where the bus ends. You then got two options. If you have heavy luggage take a taxi. On Nerudova 48 there is a hotel Golden Star (Zlata Hvezda). Very good location. Right under the castle. The walk from the Old Town would be quite uphill. If you would like to take public transportation take Metro (subway) from Hlavni nadrazi (Main train station) to I.P.Pavlova (second stop, direction Haje). From I.P.Pavlova take a tram # 22 direction Bila Hora. Get off at stop Pohorelec. Then walk on Uvoz about 300 meters toward your hotel.

If you plan well and are disciplined enough to stay on an itinerary, you can get advance purchase "Europa-Spezial Tschechien" tickets online from Bahn.de for as low as 29€/person from Fuessen to Prague using the regional train from Fuessen to Munich and the bus from Munich to Prague. That price includes a reserved seat on the bus. The bus goes into the bus station (Autobusová St. Wilsonova) adjacent to the main train station (Praha hl.n.) in Prague. The trip takes 7-7½ hours. If you don't want to make the commitment to an advance purchase, bus specific, non-refundable ticket, you can buy a Bayern-Böhmen ticket (all day pass for regional trains in Bavaria and up to Pilsen in the Czech Republic for 25€ for one person and take a regional train to Munich and one of three direct or one change (Schwandorf) connections from Munich to Pilsen. In Pilsen (or possible on the train), you can purchase a Czech Rail ticket for the rest of the way for 100 Kc (about 4€). These connections take 8½ hours, and tickets at that price are always available without advance purchase. Similarly, with advance purchase of a train specific, non-refundable Europe-Spezial ticket, you can go by bus from Prague to Nürnberg and from there to Frankfurt by ICE in about 6 hours for a low as 39€.

Europa-Spezial tickets prices are "tiered". When the lower priced advance purchase tickets sell out, the price for the next tier is general 10€ more. Nürnberg to Frankfurt is a popular route. If the lowest priced advance purchase tickets have already sold out, or if you just don't want to commit to a specific time, you can purchase a Czech Rail ticket to the first stop in Germany (about 262 Kc or 10€ per person) and a Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket for regional trains from there to Frankfurt for 44€ (first person, add'l person 6€).

Alright thanks! One more question. I saw that the Czech route has a stop in Munich. but when I entered Munich as my start point and frankfurt as my end point, the bahn website doesnt show me the 50Euro Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket prices you mentioned. im looking at leaving Prague on the 14th.
