From Zurich Airport to Murren

We land at 2:15 pm one the 4th of July. FUN! What would be best way into Murren? We have a 3 country rail pass. Do we need to make resos for the train?
Mucho Thanks!

Your route will be Zuerich Flughafen-Bern-Interlaken Ost-Lauterbrunnen-Lauterbrunnen BLM-Muerren BLM. You can depart from the airport station at 14:40, 15:13, 15:40, or 16:40. No reservations are needed. See the timetables on the Swiss Rail site.

There are two ways to get to Murren. The fastest route is an intercity train from the airport train station to Bern. At Bern change to another intercity train to Interlaken Ost station. From Ost change to the mountain train to Lauterbrunnen, and then the cable car/shuttle train to Murren. A slower but more scenic route is via Luzern. From the airport take the IC train to Luzern, and transfer to the golden pass train to Interlaken Ost. No reservations are needed. Check schedules at the Swiss Rail site: http://rail.ch

I think the question is about the 3-country pass. I have never used one in Switzerland, but according to the information on the rail pass section, it only covers 25% of the way past Interlaken. So they don't need reservations but they will need to buy tickets part of the way.

Zurich is one of the best places, Enjoy! Three passes are enough.

First, there is a train station just below the main terminal area. As Tim has shown, it's the Zurich Flughafen station. Just take the elevator down to the station. Second, when you purchase your ticket to Muerren, show your pass to the agent. There should be costs in addition to your pass as your pass does not cover you completely beyond Interlaken Ost. You only get a 25% discount on the fares. This includes going up to the Jungfrau and/or Schilthorn should you choose to do that. The two private train systems there, the Jungfraubahn and the Schilthornbahn are not kind to the Eurail Pass. Your pass should work fine into Interlaken Ost.
