From Porto to Santiago de Compostela

In looking over my Rick Steves Spain guidebook and the Portugal one, it seems to suggest that it is a shorter trip FROM Santiago de Compostela TO Porto than the reverse. And I am north from Lisbon via public transportation to Porto and on to Santiago de Compostela. Is that correct? 5 hours north, 3 hours south? Thanks, Beverly
