from Paris to Carcassone.. then Carcassone to Barcelona

I will be in Paris for a few days and it occurred to me that I want to spend the night in Carcassone before arriving to Barcelona. Having said that I've been searching online for options on Paris - to Carcassone and Carcassone to Barcelona.
I've read there is a night train from Paris to Carcassone with 1 stop. I was thinking the night train probably is a better option provided i can get a sleeper train.. Do you know anything about it? wich train should I take? I also read that there is an AV train fast.. but is in the morning. which I guess can be another option. My second question is the following day after spending the night in Carcassone if there are buses to Barcelona? I think the train leaves too early at 7;00 am and i probably want to spend the morning at the castle. Thanks for your time on reading my question

There is a TGV train from Paris-Gare de Lyon that departs at 07:20. The journey to Carassone takes 5hrs 11mins with one train change at Narbonne. You don't need a night train. I see 3 trains from Carcasonne to Barcelona. They depart at 7:35am, 10:34am and 17.53. Journey time is just over 4hrs. I'm not aware of any bus. There is a night train from Paris-Austerlitz to Barcelona. No train changes. Departs at 20.23. Journey time is 12.5hrs. You arrive at Barcelona Sants at 8.50 in the morning.

Long-distance bus travel is not so popular as the train services. EuroBus does have a run between Carcassone and Barcelona. It leaves at around 10:30 p.m., with a stop at Gerona, dumping you into Barcelona at 3 in the morning.
Their website is here: http://www.eurolines.fr/en/
