We're trying to find a good itinerary for our to return from Normandy to Charles DeGaulle Airport.
We thought of staying a night in Honfleur and then a night in Rouen and then drive Sunday to stay a night at Senlis since it's near the Airport. Should we stay in Rouen? or stay a Giverny or Chantilly? We've never been to any of these place and the options have got us spinning around. Any suggestions?
I probably won't help you to stop spinning..I love Giverny, but never thought of it as an overnight spot and Sunday is crowded. Chantilly has its fans...and i'm not one...So..I think the night in Honfleur would be perfect, small charming seaport, visited several times, but never lucky enough to spend the night. Rouen is a large city with very well organized pedestrian center and cathedral painted by Monet (which could make up for not going to Giverny), the square where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake, and the restaurant where Julia Child had her first meal in France. Senlis is a nice town, and does get you closer to the airport, but you might have had enough "charm" during your Normandy time...Obviously some decisons depend on what time's the flight out of CDG...I was just thinking of the sunday weekend traffic returning to Paris area...and monday morning traffic going into work...Now i've just confused you more...
