Need some advise. I need to get to Brussels from Colone. Found option with DB, but this is with connection. Thaly train-? Looks like this trains coming from somewhere else and make a stop in Colone and Brussel . I would like the easiest options. We have heavy suitcases. Any advise will be good. Thank you
If you go back to the Deutsche Bahn schedule and select Cologne to Bruxelles-Nord, you will see several options for a direct Intercity Express train - the trip takes around 2 hours. If you need a different Brussels station, you would just get off at Bruxelles-Nord and hop on a local train to quickly get to the correct station.
Thanks,Sandy. Actually, we need to get to Airport. So if I understand, we can hop on different train there. Do we would to buy another ticket?
If you buy the ticket in Germany, they can include the transfer to the Brussels airport (there's at least one train every half hour from downtown Brussels). I don't think you'll have this option online, however. Your best option might be to buy your tickets on ICE 10 in advanced to get a discount (this train makes the run from Frankfurt airport to Brussels through Cologne, Aachen and Liege), then just buy a separate ticket to the Brussels airport when you arrive. This leg of the trip only costs a few euros anyway.
Thank you,Tom. I think this is what we will do.
