Frieburg and area.

We would appreciate information regarding Frieburg and the surrounding area. We will be staying approximately 10 kilometers east of Freiburg. We would like to know where is a good place to see the Cockoo clocks being made if possible and a good place to purchase one. Also any other information on areas to look at in the Freiburg area would also help us in our site seeing.

Hi Ed,
... Schauinsland is one of the classiest Black Forest attractions in the Freiburg (Breisgau) area. Copy + paste the above link into your Internet address box, then click on ENTER.
...In Freiburg there's a Münster with lacework spire, worth your sightsee. Hotel Rappan is a great place for lunch, just across the Münsterplatz from the above noted place of worship.
... Gute Reise! P

Hi Ed,
... In Freiburg (Breisgau) you ask directions locally, but you will be told to take the streetcar to the gondola lift... altogether, no driving at all. You get a small vacation from motoring! You'll enjoy it, provided the weather cooperates. If it rains, just drink beer. Gute Reise! P

Hi Ed!
My husband and I are currently living and teaching here in Freiburg, so we'd love to give you some advice on places to go and things to see! Will you have access to a car or will you be traveling by train? How much time will you have in Freiburg? One easy place to see close to the area is called "Titisee" (yes... funny name), and it is a lovely "Black Forest" idyllic town situated on a lake with boat trips, Schwarzwald Torte and cuckoo clocks (right on the regio-train route, plus you get to ride a train through "Hollental" - "Hell's Valley" and see "Stag's Leap" from the train as you ride to the lake). Obviously Furtwangen does have the clock Museum, so they also have shopping opportunities, but it is located a little further out of the way. I have plenty of fantastic places to recommend if you are interested! Just drop me a line and let me know!
Gute Reise und tschuss!
