We are planning to spend 2 months in the south of France, mid-May to mid-July. We have booked the first week in Nice and the rest of the time in St Tropez, where we haven't been for 30 years). We also plan to visit the wine country of Provance and Languedoc. Any suggestions? I am finding it hard to find anywhere that has 2 month availability.

Elizabeth ,because most places book by the week, it is unlikely at this late date that you will find anywhere that has 8 free weeks in a row. I think you will have to accept booking a few weeks here and a few weeks there..
Many people book a year in advance for favorite places, or at least 5-6 months in advance, at this point you are only 10-12 weeks out.. I would actually start booking stuff now..

While it may not be optimal, have you considered breaking up your trip and spending one or two weeks in an area and then going else where? Provence will have less availability than the various areas of Languedoc. A lot depends on your transportation usage. Do you need anyone to carry your suitcases?
