Hi All. First trip to France and luckily going to be there for the French Open. Centre court is way too expensive, so I was just going to get grounds tickets. Do you know if I should buy beforehand or am I safe to get them at the gate? I don't want to risk not going, but prices are going up on a daily basis.
If you see ticket prices going up, those are scalper tickets.
Do as Steve suggests and go to the official website. You'll have to register, but once you do you'll see that single-day tickets for the outside courts (which I assume is also a general grounds pass) are only 21 euro for the first week, 15 euro after that (but probably not much play on the outside courts by then).
Thank you all for the advice. Since we will be going to the early rounds, the outside courts will be just fine. I have tried to setup an account on Roland Garros however; they have neglected to include the United States as a country.
I will keep trying though. That is a huge savings.
David---the countries are in French (even on the English-language website). Look for "Etats-Unis". That's the US.
Wow! thanks RS community for saving me a ton of money. I was able to change the language to english and get signed on. I registered under Canada as my country as the USA, Even in French, was not a choice. Once I was able to purchase tickets, there was a drop down for the US.
I paid about 45 euros for two tickets. That saved me about 200 euros from every other site I found!
Thank you so much for your help. That saves a lot more money for some good vin and nourriture.
I went to check my ticket, but it looks like your question was answered. We usually watch the matches from the view of TV at home, but this year i wanted to touch the grounds, so for 20 euro each we have access to the courts annexes on May 20th, just for the ambiance of being there. Hope you enjoy...and bring a hat..never know if we'll get too much sun or too much rain
Thanks for the tip! I am hoping I will get too much sun.
