Will be in eastern France in November. I'm seeking Christmas markets that take place in late November -I'm coming home on the 27th.
I think you might be in luck if you are anywhere near Strasbourg France in the Alsace region. Their website announces the dates of the next Christmas market here http://noel.tourisme-alsace.com/en/strasbourg-christmas/
Have a great time!
Oops, that is for Nov 25- Jan 6 of 2011. They haven't published their dates yet for 2011-12 but you can look on a calendar and predict from this year's dates or email the tourist office. They may already have next year's dates and the website hasn't been updated yet. You are cutting it really close by returning on the 27th...best of luck.
Big list here: http://www.ilaca.fr/france/tag/noel/
Unfortunately the Strasbourg market will be too late for me. Do any of you know anything about the markets in Mulhouse, Reims and/or Montbeliard?
Don't know the dates for this year, but several years ago, we visited the Market in Colmar while we were in Europe for Thanksgiving week. Assuming they still have the same dates, it might fit perfectly for you.
I believe the Alsacian Christmas markets (Strasbourg, Colmar, Mulhouse and points in between) are the same dates every year. They open on the Feast of St. Catherine (Nov 25th) and close on the Feast of the Epiphany (Jan 6th).
