Hi Everyone!
We will be in Salzburg for a day and night next June, and I was looking at the Sound of Music tours. Has anyone done this bike tour? How is it? Would it be better to take one of the longer bus tours? Thanks a billion for your help!

Very little is left in Salzburg from the SOM. Most were Hollywood sets that have since been dismantled. The Mondsee church might be of interest, but the rest, no. There is a lot to do and see in Salzburg, but the SOM tours are mostly tourist traps.

My boyfriend and I took the Bob's tour in September 2008. We both really enjoyed it (and he barely knows the movie)! Our guide drove us by the von Trapp's real home, through the beautiful Lakes area, to the Mondsee Cathedral, Hellbrun Palace, and across from Schloss Leopoldskron (and a few other places).
