Depending on budget the IBIS Frankfurt Centrum is a pretty good compromise between proximity to the train station, low rates, AC'd rooms and proximity to restaurants, bars, the riverfront and the old town...(walk along the embankment)

Thanks. I got really confused when trying to book on Expedia but thanks to both of you I've booked it in the Cultural District [and Ibis Frankfurt Centrum is really reasonable at only $120 a night]. Looking forward to the overnight where everything is in walking distance.
