Frankfurt - 1 night

I am ending our trip in Rothenburg on 10/3, with a 10:30 am departure from FRA on 10/4. I'm tempted to spend the night in Rothenburg and grab the 4:45am train on 10/4 to FRA, but I suspect my wife won't like this. So if I spend 1 night in FRA, someone suggest a cool place to have our final dinner in Germany that is convenient to the airport. An Apple-Wine pub might be cool.

The entire city of Frankfurt is convenient to the airport. Why stay out at the airport when you could visit one of Germanys' important and historic cities? That said, my favorite Apple wine pubs are Dauth-Schneiders and Atschel in Sachsenhausen. Or, if you make it to Bornheim, go to the upper Berger Strasse to Zur Sonne or Apfelwein Soltze. 3 Oct. is a holiday, so there will be Jazz in the Römer, which should be fun.

Scott, you have your question posted twice. You might want to delete the other one.

I would not take a train that early, how horrible would that be? Frankfurt is fun and totally worth an evening to enjoy affelwoi (or is it abbelwoi or appelwoi?) and some gruenersosse and a relatively leisurely trip to the airport the next day.

This is a great authentic German place on a quiet street near the university. You can take the train into Frankfurt am Main Hauptbahnhof train station. Get on the tram going north toward the Marriot. Get off at the stop in front of the Marriot Frankfurt and walk two blocks. Outside patio seating is very cool and food and atmosphere great! Hank, that looks very tasty. I especially like that they have smaller plates too. There are some old favourites on there. I'll make an effort to get to Pielok the next time I'm in Frankfurt. BTW, the web address you gave needs an "e" at the end, .de
