We will be ending our Germany trip and traveling to Paris in October. We will be in the Rhine/Mosel area and wondering if one route to Paris is better than another. On the map it seems like either Frankfort or cologne would work. Is one better? Thanks

From a purely economical perspective, discounted Thalys ticket for Koeln-Paris are easier to obtain. Super-Discounted ICE tickets sold on Die Bahn (39E) for Frankfut-Paris in October are already sold out. For sample date of 9 Oct, Thalys starts at 25E, while ICE starts at 69E.
With no connections, the trains take the same amount of time.
