i haven't been to paris in awhile - is it still possible to exchange francs into euros?

There are only six "issues" of French franc banknotes that are still exchangeable for Euro. They must be exchanged at offics of the Banque de France, the central bank institution of the government. See http://www.banque-france.fr/gb/instit/telechar/discours/cp071210.pdf for the list.
