France weather next week!

We leave for France Thursday and it looks like the weather is still quite chilly...but warming up a bit. Makes it hard to pack light! Are people still wearing boots and heavy coats? I'm from New Orleans so, it's hard to imagine...plus, takes up so much space in the suitcase. Then again, don't want to be cold, dressed for spring. Anyone there now or, experience with the weather there this time of year? Thanks for all suggestions.

I don't know what part of France you are going to but we have a nice weather in Burgundy and all over France. Quite chilly in the morning it gets warm very quickly during the day. Temperatures will go up along the week. You may use this website (set on Paris for you) http://www.weather.com/weather/today/Paris+France+FRXX0076
Welcome to France! Coco

Visit the weather channel and type in your city of choice then click the 10-day chart. Most accurate.

"Are people still wearing boots and heavy coats?" You didn't specify where in France, but unless you mean the Alpine glaciers where people are still skiing, absolutely not! The weather in most of western and central Europe has been quite warm (daily highs between 15 and 20 C) for the past month. A bit chilly in the mornings, but as the other poster mentioned, it warms up quickly. The absolute most you may need is a sweater and light jacket.

Thanks for the great advice! Went to the Weather Channel and it looks like we're going to have perfect weather! We are travelling from Paris to the Alsace region, Provence, and Dordogne. Glad to know I can leave the boots and coats at home! Your help is much appreciated. peg

This morning on my walk to school I saw a woman wearing flip flops with her winter coat. I think that sums it up perfectly. Winter coat for the am, and flip flops for the afternoon. Don't forget that "April showers bring May flowers" and rain is probably to be expected.
