A friend and I will be traveling from France to Barcelona to end our trip in October. We will have a car in LaGrasse for the week, but want to leave the car in France and take the train to Barcelona. We could return the car in Narbonne (I believe - we'll be renting it in Toulouse). Any recommendations about the best way to make this trip? Thanks much!
Just what you said. You could return the car in Perpignan if that works out better for you.
Where do I find info about train schedules/tickets? Also - any advice on what company to use for car rental? We'll be picking it up in Toulouse. Thanks.
Hi,
This may or may not be relevant for your trip, but when we looked in to traveling from Paris to Barcelona it was actually cheaper to fly.
I would use bahn.de to explore the route options and then Renfe.com or the French train website to buy the tickets. Renfe shows one Talgo train a day from narbonne to Barcelona, departing Narbonne at 8:23 and arriving Barcelona at 11:48. Tickets are 49 euros. I didn't try the French site.
If you are on a budget, you could take the bus. Alsa.es is the national bus site for Spain but also has international trips. If you book early enough you can get up to 50% off your fare. Enjoy!
