France Free Museum Admissions under 25 -- Just EU or everyone under 25?

The French "free admission" program to museums, etc.-- is it just for EU people under 25, or everyone under 25 (i.e. Americans), or do I need to purchase a Paris Museum pass for an under 25-year-old American? Thanks

You probably know this, but in general Paris museums are free for everyone under 18, and therefore under 18 you don't need a Paris Museum pass. So, an American 18-25 would need the pass, although I think someone on the helpline mentioned recently that there had been complaints that only EU citizens 18-25 got in free, and that the policy was being reconsidered. I have no idea if any changes are imminent.

Yes, that was what I was thinking, we'd need a pass. Thank you so much for replying. I really appreciate it

My daughter who is 22 is going to Paris in 2 days, and she has the same dilema. She checked with several of the individual sites listed on the museum pass, and most of them offer a discount to 18-25 year-olds according to their websites. You may want to check the individual prices for 18-25 year-olds against the cost of a museum pass.
