Looking for suggestions for a small hotel/B&B in the Champaigne region for a brief visit
Look at the web site for Logis de France. These are small, family-owned hotels in every region of France, some more luxurious than others. The rating system is done by chimneys, i.e. 2 chimneys, 3 chimneys, etc., instead of stars.
Kevin:
I am happy to recommend Hotel Cheval Blanc in Montmort-Lucy. It is about 10km from Eparnay (the heart of Champagne. The village is tiny and there is not a lot to do in Montmort-Lucy but the inn is very reasonabley priced and the food is out of this world. We have made it a point to stay there on all our travels to Europe. I sent some friends there in 2008 and the report back from them was glowing. Just google the place - it has a website (only in French - but you can figure it out). Also, be sure when you search to use the name of the town because there are many many Hotel Cheval Blanc in France - it seems every town has an inn of that name. Have fun.
Thanks Jon
I'll have my brother check it out as he live 90 mins from there in southern Belgium
