Hello, Does anyone know the name of a B&B in France with WW1 or WW2 trenches in the backyard? We are planning a trip to France next year. Thank you kindly,
Veronika
Veronika, I'm not aware of a B&B that fits that description. Is this a place that you've heard about, and if so can you provide any further information? The presence of Trenches suggests that it may be more of a WW-I site. Cheers!
Veronika, I checked tripadvisor but only found Hostellerie le Clos Moulin in Vron that sounded at all like what you are looking for. I also couldn't tell if it has a WW I trench or not. Maybe you could find it by going to tripadvisor.com?
Do you mean a WW1 trench 'literally' in the backyard, or in the sense I would use the term, in close proximity? There is a recommendation on TA for a B & B in Bayonvillers in the Somme region - 'A La Ferme'. We visited this area last year. Villers Brettoneux being high on our list as Aussies. The Newfoundland/Canadian site
has retained a large series of trenches. It was one of the most moving days if my life. It was filled with sadness, respect, gratitude for these young men who gave their lives, as world events since have turned out, in vain.
All I could find was a WWI battlefield trench in Somme in Northern France.
