Both those websites (Tripadvisor Hamburg forum) and ifoundyourcamera.com are great ideas. probably much more effective than posting here.

Since Rick just recently added Hamburg to his Germany guidebook, I suppose it's possible your memory card may belong to someone here, but it's pretty unlikely. Maybe you can make a short video & post some or all of the photos online somewhere – You Tube or someplace else...see what happens.

Try the website ifoundyourcamera.net. It is a place where you can post pictures from lost cameras in search of the owner. You might also try posting on tripadvisor on Hamburg forum.

Steve, You might check the EXIF data on the first and last photos. That will provide a date range when they were taken. You should be able to find some landmarks or other details in the photos to tell where they were taken. Some of the more advanced Cameras also tag the photographer's name in the EXIF data, so I'm sure that would help. The previous suggestions of contacting websites such as ifoundyourcamera are also good. The more information you can provide on the the contents of the card, the better the possibility of finding the owner. Good Luck!

This is precisely why the first photo taken on every one of my memory cards is of a sheet of paper that reads: "If found, please contact me at...". I've never lost a card, but I've found them, and couldn't identify anyone. My hope is that if someone finds it, they'll reach out to me. We'll see if it works...

I do the same thing as Darren (only I use my whiteboard instead of paper). I list my GSM phone number if I am outside the US, and my regular phone for inside the US, as well as my email address.
