more of a comment, if your choice of accomodations includes chain hotels, consider using your AirMiles for Best Western travel cards instead of the flight.. I found that my Miles were worth about 8 cents apiece when used on a flight, but 13 cents apiece when used on the BW cards.. stretch your value! Since I needed 6300 Miles for the flight, I stretched the value 6300 x 5 cents extra value = $315.. that buys a lot of escargots :)

Thanks for letting us Canadians know. I never found Air Miles good for flights compared to Aeroplan but I wasn't aware about the travel cards for Best Western and the better value you get with them. I prefer non-chain hotels in Europe, however, the last night of my next trip is booked at a different chain hotel but I will now switch over to BW for a free night.
