Food and jazz

We are trying to decide on the best town or city in Europe for a birthday celebration for my husband. He is a jazz musician, lover of good wine and great food. We have been to Paris several times. Any ideas for something fun and charming? We'd like to go this fall.

Prague is well known for it'z jazz clubs. My daughter and I had a great night at the Reduta Club. Spoilt for choice for cafes nearby too.

same with my husband! We lucked out when we were in Italy a few years ago and a very popular jazz artist just happened to come through Tuscany on the day we took a day trip there!! It was incredibly romantic. The venue was an old coliseum, the seats were cement and awful, but the view was amazing! Looking out at those Tuscan Hills. There was a little cheap restaurant near the venue, nothing fancy. There were nicer restaurants in the town. We were on a tight budget and the concert wasn't part of our budget. Are there certain artists he likes? You can look to see if they are touring and then just book a trip there!! Have fun!

Not sure what kind of jazz your husband likes/plays, but looks like Chick Corea and Christian McBride will be touring this fall in Europe. Europeans like jazz a lot more than Americans. I think jazz is pretty popular in Amsterdam and Germany. But you can just look at the guidebooks at the jazz venues and see what you like. What about a jazz festival? They are usually in the summer (North Sea, etc), but you might be able to find others later this fall.
