We are going to be in Zurich in May on our 40th anniversary and I thought a nice Fondue or Raclette meal would be fun. I know it's mostly a winter meal in Switzerland, but does anyone know of a place in Zurich that might have Fondue in May?
The restaurant in the Adler hotel (in the oldtown area) specializes in fondue and serves it daily.
any tourist hotel will probably serve both, certainly fondue.
You can get fondue year round at Le Dezelay (www.le-dezelay.ch). It is very close to the Grossmunster church off the Neiderdorf. Chaesalp (www.chaesalp.ch) is our favorite fondue in town. I know that they are open year round, but you may want to contact them to make sure they are serving fondue. Happy Anniversary.
Yep. When we arrived in Lauterbrunnen in very early June from Venice, the first dinner we had was fondue. We were in Switzerland and we wanted fondue. It was absoultely great. This was at the Hotel Silberhorn in Lauterbrunnen which has a very nice dining room and menu.
Thanks for your responses. We went to the Hotel Adler as we were in the area that afternoon. It was a fun thing to do - my husband can't have all the bread and/or potatoes, so he had the meat fondue, which was quite good as well. They also made a plate of lightly steamed vegetables we could also dip in the traditional cheese fondue.
Well the swiss pref it in winter apre-ski or hiking but you can get it many places where there are tourists. Any good hotel can also whip some up - or you could even go to the local cheese shop and buy some of thier house blend and take it back to the Hotel Cafe and have them make it for you! but you wont find a problem ordering it at traditional restaurants.
