We are flying out of Paris after taknig the train up from Munich the day before, and I need to find a hotel close to the airport..any suggestions? Or can I find a hotel close to the train station and go to the aiport from there. Hate to waste our last night in Paris.. Thx,
What time does your flight leave?
There are several hotels near the airport. I have stayed at the Ibis and Hilton. (Two very different price points)
However, if you flight is not at the crack of dawn you might want to stay in Paris. (I stayed at the airport for 6 AM flights)
We leave at 2 PM actually.. Thx
Stay in Paris! You'll have plenty of time to get to CDG in the morning.
The rule of thumb is to be at CDG three hours before a flight across the Atlantic. Allow one hour by metro and the RER B to get from central Paris to CDG. Be aware that the RER B line divides northeast of Paris so be sure to get on a train that is going to the airport.
Lucky you Steve,, thats lots of time to stay in Paris. I would choose a hotel near a RER station, ST Michels or Luxembourg would be where I would look. YOu have to be at airport three hours ahead, so even with a leisurly breakfast you have time to take the train to CDG.
What is budget for hotel.
Hi Pat, I find myslef with an overnight in Paris this summer and would love your recommendation as to a hotel near St Michels or Luxembourg. I will have to be at the airport by 7:30 am, but I'd still rather have an evening in Paris rather than stay at an airport hotel and shuttle into Paris from there, I think.
So what places would you recommend? I'd prefer to stay in the 120 euro range or less, though.
steve,
There's a Sheraton Hotel right in Terminal 2 of CDG. That would be certainly be the most convenient choice if your budget allows.
Happy travels!
I think we'll stay in town the more I look at it..
JER: Cluny-Sorbonne. Less than your figure, good place, splits the difference for location since it's between Lux Gardens and St Michel stations. Right on the northwest corner of the university.
Thanks Ed, I'll check it out.
Hmmm...on second thought. I'm arriving at CDG at 1 pm and leaving the next morning. Maybe it would make most sense to drop my bag off at an airport hotel and then RER it into town for the day and head back to the airport area to sleep after dinner. I'll be traveling with carry-on only, so I could take everything on the train if need be, but now I'm wondering if it makes sense for what is basically a daytrip and evening into Paris.
It's in mid July, so I'm a bit wary of the no-AC Ibis. Any other recommendations--with AC?
