Fly or Train to Paris from London

I am trying to figure out the best way to get to Paris from London in late June. If I am interpreting easyjet web site correctly, their $100 flight costs less than the least expensive Eurostar ticket. Am I missing something? Thanks. Anne

Does the $100 flight include taxes and fees? Are you adding on the expense of travel to/from both airports vs arriving/departing from the city center on the Eurostar. Are you also factoring in the value of your time? Air travel requires you to arrive at the airport up to 2 hours ahead of time, and you have deal with all the check-in and security headaches. Even if flying were slightly cheaper I would still go with the train; its very stress-free. When checking train fares, make sure your are using the official site (www.eurostar.com), if asked where you live say the "UK". Fares can be cheaper for departures later in the day vs morning trains.

Personally - I prefer the train mainly due to the overall time saved. By the time you add up the additional cost to get to and from the airport as well as the extra time needed for check in - you are typically already completed the train trip and having lunch somewhere fun.

The train is fast and convenient but if you want to fly, look at Ryanair. They have amazing discount flights...

Happy Travels.

Ryan are doesn't fly London to Paris. They don't even fly to Beauvais, which is long ways from Paris.

Anne, I went on cheaptickets.com and got a $100 r/t air from CDG to LHR. I am traveling late June/earlyJuly as well.

Going from London to Paris, though, I went on the Eurostar web and found a web special.

2 years ago I flew Easyjet to CDG, so Easyjet does fly into CDG... but you catch the flight from Luton. If I remember correctly, it was an early flight from Luton.

Last summer we went to an American Express office in London, actually Croydon outside of London that has tourist info. They use a company called Cresta. We got a terrific deal for first class on the Eurostar, stayed at the Marriott near Republique Metro, with 5 Metro connections. We are trying Am. Express again this summer for trip to Germany.
