I'm headed to Uzes the last week of May and Paris the first week of June. On my previous trip to Provence in early May, fields of red poppies were in bloom - will they still be there in late May (for this year's trip)? And is late May still cherry season (they were just coming to the markets in early May). Any other flowers/fruits to enjoy in late May? As for Paris, what's the weather like in early June? Thanks!
Paris weather in early June? Perfect! Should be warm with occasional rain showers.
I was in Provence last year in mid-June and cherries were everywhere in the markets. Also apricots and those lovely little melons. The lavender was just starting to bloom in the hills although there were plants blooming in the towns. Paris...don;t be surprised by rain coming up from no where in the middle of the day!! Then it clears!
Holly, we will be there around the same time as you! From 2nd June to 16th :-)
Sounds like some kind of waterproof jacket is in order.
I would agree with the prior postings had last year not been one of the coldest summers in quite some time. So far this spring hasn't been much better (we had snow in March and April with days of arctic air).
Typically - the first week in June is lovely in Paris.
As for the flowers and cherries - it will all depend on the temperature of course. Some of my trees are just getting leaves here, but friends near Provence have indicated Paris is a few weeks behind this year.
