Is it just me or are the flights in may to Frankfurt from Orlando for example still very high (high $800s) is there still a chance for flights to germany to drop in the next month or so? I normally have paid 650 and some people have paid 550 r/t. but ive been checking this route for 6 months and it has yet to drop for any airline.
I am in the same boat up in philly. I have a family reunion over labor day in Germany. I just hope fares come down.
I'm also in the same boat for May travel....keep thinking any day now I'll see prices come down, but they really aren't. Also, is it just me, or did taxes skyrocket in the past year? $300+ for taxes/fees seems really high.
I'm going to Germany mid-March and I paid $1050 for airfare. I had also heard that fares should drop 60-90 days beforehand but they didn't, and I didn't want to risk not getting a flight at all. I've never paid more than $800 for airfare; a real bummer, but what do you do?
Maybe Steve is just "luckier" then I am, but I just went and did a search during the Luftansa "sale" period. Using the 3 day window. Best I came up with as $900 on the $296 route listing from my city :)
I typed in my flight info and the price was higher than the original ticket I purchased. Oh well...
I got a good deal on British Airways flying to Munich from Baltimore. I thought it odd that they were cheaper then say US Air from Philly to Munich....I live closer to Baltimore so I'm not complaining.
