My wife and I would like to find a reasonable one-way fare from Munich to Chicago this August. It appears Aer Lingus has the best rates but not sure
if i should wait to book thinking they may go down or pull the trigger. We are flexible within a 2-3 day period and would consider leaving another city besides Munich if the rates were decent. Thanks for any advice anyone can offer!
Sometimes the round trip is cheaper than the one way, even if you don't use the return. I usually find the best rates on Delta from Detroit to Frankfurt. Don't know if you could make something work on that route as it is a non-stop to DTW.
Yes, checking ITA matrix, in the month of August, Aerlingus has the lowest fare with a maximum of one stop. Lowest prices are toward the end of the month. Prices are in Euro, since that is the point of origin, and less than a round trip with a throw away return. I don't see any signifigant price differences between Munich, Frankfurt or Zurich. Time of the month and day of the week is the biggest factor. Later and midweek generally cheaper. Don't fly on a Saturday.
