Hi there!
I've heard museums like Orsay and Louvre are very busy on first Sundays since it's free entrance. What is the best time of day on first Sundays to visit these museums to bypass the crowds?
Thanks in advance for your help!

And in case you haven't come across this info... most (or all?) of the impressionist/post-impressionist collection at the Orsay is traveling because of remodeling at the museum. I think some are at the impressionist museum in Giverny, and there's a large exhibit opening next month in San Francisco (100 pieces, if I remember correctly).
You may be able to bypass long entrance lines at some places on Free Sundays,, but you will not be albe to bypass the crowds inside. Insane at the most well known and popular places. I would not bother going to either the Louvre or Orsay on those days( and I speak from ( bad) experience) , but instead take advantage of the free day to see some of the lesser known or busy places,, places you may not wish to normally pay for an admission.
Thanks all for your advice! Was hoping to save a few bucks but time is money and I would rather spend dollars on a museum pass and not deal with crowds.
Thanks again!
