Finding Accomodations in Paris this week! Help!

We have been riding the Loire on our tandem for two weeks, and wanted to spend our last week in Paris before returning home on the 21st, but after hours searching on the internet and numerous phone calls, we found no vacancies for less than 500/night in Paris. The best we found was at Disneyland ack! So we opted for a wonderful B & B in Provence instead. We are now in Provence for a few days, but would like to have at least 3 days in Paris before going home. Any suggestions for finding a 2-3 star hotel or preferably a B&B close enough to Paris to enjoy it are Most appreciated. Duane and Donna

Look at accor.com. They have several hotels in Paris, in various price ranges and locations. Etap and Ibis are cheaper choices. Cheapest is the Hotelformule1, but toilet and shower are down the hall.

Wow - I thought about you just yesterday! I wondered if you'd gone on your trip yet, and how things had worked out for you...(I hope Donna wasn't pedaling too hard...).........I agree with John's suggestions - I've stayed in an Ibis, and almost in an ETAP (they look nice, and roomy). The great thing about Paris is their metro system, so in case your hotel isn't quite in the middle of things, it'll be close enough to get in by metro (especially if you're saving $300-400/night!).

thank you. We now know there are rooms in Paris for under $200/night. Now the trick will be to find one with reasonably easy access to attractions and CDG airport for our departure. Duane and Donna

Venere.com should cough up a slew in all prices.

Just so you know our experience, we went to parisinfo.com first. Clicked Accomodations and found many links to hotel booking services. Each time we tried one of these links, we got only a couple rooms ranging in price from $2000 to over $9000 for 7 nights. Then when we found one for about $1500 we entered all our information including our credit card number. When I clicked confirm Reservation, I got a message "Room was just booked 2 minutes ago". I will be on the look out for fraudulent charges on my bill. Hotel St. Dominique is FULL We probably will settle for an ACCOR or IBIS. Still looking for a B&B.

Duane, try this one. Hotel la Caravelle. It may have avalability and the doubles are about 105 euro. Good location and nice front desk people. It's a 3 star place, just south of Montmartre.

The Accor family of hotels is a good suggestion if you can find something availble. Etap as mentioned offers nice rooms at good prices. You may try Hotel Saint Dominique which is an old hotel but should work for you. It is close enough to walk to the Eiffel Tower. Here is the link to their website................http://www.hotelstdominique.com/FR/tarifs.html#
