Ferris Wheel in Paris

Watching the final stage of the Tour de France last night, I could see a Ferris wheel somewhere near the Champs Elysées. Does anyone know, was that in the Tuileries? Is the wheel a permanent thing? What does it cost for a ride? I love Ferris wheels!

Fête des Tuileries

From 28 June to 24 August 2008
The Fête des Tuileries is one of the biggest events of the summer. Visitors bring their families, dress is casual, and entertainment all round.

No idea about the cost. There is also a carousel and games etc.

The ferris wheel usually returns for the winter festival - but at Place de Concorde.

Yes, the Tuileries. It's not a permanent thing at that site...they were setting it up on June 27 and it opened soon afterward I imagine. We rode on it July 13, after we got on it started pouring rain and we got soaked! (Makes for a better story, in any event.) I seem to think it was 24 euros or so for a family of four.

Thanks, Jona and Neil. Pity it won't still be there in late September. C'est la vie! Maybe next time.

I was in Paris last January and there was a ferris wheel at the end of the Tuileries, near Place de Concorde. Not sure if this is the one you mean, seems like it's always there? I think you can always find a ferris wheel in Paris!

BG, the Ferris Wheel at the end of the Tuluries/Place De Concorde is not always there. It was up when I was there in January, but was taken down, its not permanent. I thought it was permanet and went to take my parents on it when they came to visit me in April, but it was gone.
