I get to my apt near Pont Neuf(6e) early Friday evening-would love to get a quick dinner before I go to the Louve. Any suggestions for somewhere close to get a great sandwich or picnic food to take by the river.

On the north bank of the river (right across the bridge from the Conciergerie) along Voie Georges Pompidou, there's a deli where you can get some delicious take-away sandwiches and pastry.

There are tons of places to get great food--bakeries, pre made food shops. Within the 5th, there are even falafel and gyro places. As far as the picnic spot,behind Notre Dame is a beuatiful spot with benches, as well as the side of Notre Dame towards the fifth. On Ille St louis, there is a nice park at the end furthest from Ille Citie. And lots of places there to get some food to take with you. Along the road facing the river of the fifth, there are several parks to sit in. Or one of the niches on Pont Neuf.
