We're wanting to spend an evening at the Faulhorn hotel above Grindelwald. Has anyone stayed there that can share an experience?

... we have never taken rooms at the Faulhorn, but the above information would certainly discourage doing so; it seems to be rotting away and is a fire hazard. That's not a concern I want when I turn in for the night... suggest you find other quarters. Gute Reise! P

I've never stayed at the Faulhorn, but October of last year I hiked up to it, and from the outside it looks to be falling apart. It appears to be in need of some maintenance. This Old House, Switzerland edition:)
