fashion tour in Paris

I will be in Paris with my almost 18 year old daughter in March. Any tips on a fashion tour to take with her or ideas of how/where to see a fashion show?

Fashion week happens twice a year in Paris. Once in October and the other might be March (might be Feb). The general public has almost no chance of getting into the big shows but if it's going on where you're there, you might check to see if there are some public events/shows.

Or, for another kind of fashion show, just walk around the 6th and 7th arrondissments on a Saturday. People dress up to do their shopping, go to markets, go to lunch...parents and kids all look fabulous.

Printemps or Galeries Lafayette (department stores) has a fashion show once a week. I think on Friday and it's only at one or the other, I just can't remember which. They're only a short way apart on Blvd Haussmann.

Thank you! Yes they do have a show, however not in March. I wrote to reserve tickets and that is what I was told.

Thank you!

All of Paris is a fashion show, in my opinion, so if you don't make it to a formal one just people watching will be fabulous. Also, there are many stores with inspirational things that make for great shopping - window or actual. Avenue Montaigne has many couture shops and just window shopping through this area you will see the pinnacle of Parisian fashion. Rick mentions this in his Paris guidebook. I recommend it.

Have you looked at paris-walks.com? They have fashion tours, I have not checked dates for March.

Walk along Rue de Rivoli on the side with C&A and H&M - the vibe is very youthful and there are tons of shops selling knock-off fashion, shoes, bijoux, etc. It's excellent for shopping on a budget with a teen. Avoid the arcaded side of Rue de Rivoli, except just to check out for the visual interest of such a lovely structure.

Le Marais is loaded with boutiques - it's also a super destination for fashion. There's plenty of upscale stuff there, plus street after street of wholesale-o-the-public shopping that reminds me of the Garment District in NYC.

Not sure about where to see a fashion, show, alas... thank heavens for the internet!
