Where are some nice, but inexpensive places to stay in Eze and Nice, France? ...Especially if they have a nice view.
Try Hotel Royal in the Promenade des Anglais. Not that expensive and right across from the water.
Define inexpensive. I don't think there is such a place in Eze, regardless of your definition, but I wouldn't advise staying there in any case, unless all you want to do is look at the view.
"Nice and inexpensive" in Eze (hmmmm). First, Eze and Nice are two very different places, with different lodging price structures, I would think. And second, there are two Ezes: Eze-Bord-de-Mer (on the coast, probably not where you want to go), and Eze-le-Village. To get to Eze-le-Village, best to have a car. It sure looked to me like an expensive town, but with great views down to the coastline. You can get to Eze-le-Village by bus, but in that case the transportation details need to be researched before you get there.
I would strongly suggest you go to tripadvisor.com. You may find some interesting information on Hotel Royal. Price seems to be a consideration in their rankings. Value is treasured. While highly rated properties may be expensive, there are generally some that are much less expensive and part of the reason given for high ratings among people who have stayed in a given property is the value for money spent.
I also recommend the Hotel Royal in Nice. We had a great view and the price was much less than other hotels along the Promenade.
We stayed at the Mercure hotel on the Promenade in 2006 and the Hotel Boscolo on the park in 2007. I am quite sure the rates have changed significantly but they may be worth checking. Both hotels had nice views! I should qualify that statement about the Mercure...our room was a small suite in the front of the hotel so I can't say what the views would be for the other rooms. If you happen to be over 55 years old, the Mercure gives rates at two for the price of one for the room and two for the price of one for the breakfast if you choose to take it. We have also used the Logis brand hotels in France. There are some hotels of that brand in Nice. Enjoy!
