Any recommendations on the quickest route from Evora to Cadiz. I believe it is about 8 hours of driving. Thank you!
Actually, you should be able to do the trip by car in about 5 hours. Take the E-802 northwest out of Evora and link up with the E-90/A-6, a four-lane toll highway, and head west to Badajoz (it becomes the E-90/A-5 after crossing the Spanish border). Continue past Badajoz (for all Sharpe fans, the site of a famous battle in the Spanish war of independence, in 1812), then just before you get to Merida, you take the A-66 south towards Sevilla...another four-lane divided highway, but no tolls. You'll sweep around the western side of Sevilla, and then join up with the A-4/E-5 (4 lanes, divided) heading south. Just south of Sevilla, it turns into tha AP-4/E-5, which means it's a toll road. That'll take you right into Cadiz. Total driving distance is under 300 miles.
Really outstanding information...so detailed. Thank you for laying out the route. We will follow your advice. Very appreciative of your knowledge of the area!
