I have left over euros from last year when they were strong; should I convert them to Swiss Francs since I will be going there next month?
Thank you,
Sammee

I think that "converting" them will mean selling them to the bank for USD at a horrendous rate, worse than buying them here, then buying Swiss Francs at a not very good rate.
Better, see if they'll accept them in Switzerland for a more reasonable rate, or convert them over there, or save them for your next trip to Europe.
Well, the Euro has been going up for the last few weeks, you never know. Either way, as the above poster said, you will not get a good conversion rate in the U.S.
Are you anticipating every going to a 'Euro' country again? In that case I say keep them for that trip. Get money when you get to Switzerland from as ATM.
Everytime you convert money you're losing some of it.
I tried once to pay in Euros in a near-the-border-swiss-shop and they did not accept them, I had to pay in Swiss Francs. If I were to change those euros, I would change them in Switzerland rather than in the US, but indeed, if you think you'll be traveling again in at least one of the Euro countries, then I'd keep those on the side for that trip.
Thank you, everyone, I will hang on to them and use the ATM machine. I may go back to Rome.

Bring your Euros along with you to Switzerland anyways. They will provide you with solid emergency cash, at worst.
Thank you Diane. I learned that I can pay in euros where I will be staying in Lauterbrunnen.

Anytime you exchange money, whether it be at a bank, exchange booth, restaurant or hotel you need to know what the exchange rate is. You might be better going to a bank in Switzerland to exchange.
