european curling iron and hair dryer

I would like to buy a european voltage hair dryer and curling iron before taking a vacation this summer to Prague,Vienna and Munich. I do not want a dual voltage. I know I can simply buy one once I get there, but am hoping there is an on line website that sells them. Does anyone know where I might find?

There is an Amazon Europe that would sell European models but the bigger question is the charge to get it to you in the US. Might have it shipped to your first hotel.

There isn't an "Amazon Europe" but most of the countries have their own Amazon. You could try ordering one off Amazon.de or .fr or .it. But as Ed said, the shipping could be really high (if they'll ship). I personally haven't had any problems with dual voltage appliances. I've used a US purchased blow dryer for over 3 years without any problems. And I use the flat iron I bought in France whenever I'm back in the US without any problems. Just need to get the plug adaptors.

Kathy, which city are you flying into? If it's Prague there will be at least one Tesco or Globus on the way from the airport into downtown. They're like Walmart or K-Mart (but with a grocery section as well) and you should be able to get each for the equivalent of $12-15.

I had your same thought several years ago. Hair dryers are pretty easy to find at a cheap price but curling irons were another story. Most were the small barrel type for making tight curls; I couldn't find the larger barrel ones. On trips to Germany I would go to the larger department stores (Karstadt and Kaufhof)and the closest thing they had was 70 Euros. Ughh. So I went to the German Amazon site and purchased one there and had it shipped to a cousin of mine in Germany. I would think you could do the same with a hotel if you ask them, particularly if it's a smaller one. Go to www.amazon.de Here's the one I bought:
http://www.amazon.de/Remington-Ci5338-Lockenstab-38mm/dp/B0076LK2DQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1371823867&sr=1-1&keywords=lockenstab+38mm It's called a 'lockenstab' (curling iron) and the larger ones are 38mm, not so large 25mm And by the way, I don't bring my European-voltage hair dryer with me anymore; all the hotels have a dryer in the room.

FWIW,I was able to find a dual voltage curling iron by Conair last month at the local Target for under $20. Worked great in France and Spain with an adapter plug.
