Here are my questions about ordering Eurail pass: 1. My father is a US greencard holder with Chinese passport. When I order the pass, for his "Country" information, I believe I should put in "China" which goes by his passport. So, can he still buy his pass from North America? The website indicates they only sell train tickets to people from North America. I am planning to buy the Eurail Adult saver pass, so I need to buy his "share" together. 2. My father is over 65 years old, the website says there is discount on senior over 65. If I purchase Eurail Adult saver pass, will his age be considered to have senior discount on top of the "saver" pass discount? Thanks in advance.
From the Eurail website, www.eurail.com, "The Eurail Pass can be used by residents of any country outside of Europe. For example: the USA, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Japan, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Singapore, China, India or Hong Kong." Note, it says "residents", not from. That should answer your first question. "Senior Passes can be used by travelers aged 60 years or over (counted on their first day of travel). Only the following Eurail Passes have discounted senior fares: * Eurail Ireland Pass (1st or 2nd class) * Eurail Romania Pass (1st class)" That should answer your second question. http://www.eurail.com/support/faq/pass-types-and-discounts
Thank you for your reply. I just found out the answer for questions 1. Yes, put in "China" as country information, and still can purchase ticket here in North America.
