Has anyone taken a tour with Ellwood von Seibold recently?
We will be in Normandy and want to book a d-day tour. Most people seem to rave about Battlebus Tours but not much is posted about Ellwood and his tours. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Yes, I took one of his tours in 2007 and it was fabulous. We started in his backyard in Ste Mere Eglise where he tells a fascinating story. Ellwood is supremely knowledgeable about all things D-Day and WWII and is a wonderful guide. He and his tour were great.
Thanks for the feedback! Do you think 1 full day tour is enough to take in all that Ellwood has to offer? My two teenagers will be with us and I thought that 2 day tour would be too much. Any thoughts?
Jeff - we spent a day with Ellwood last May as part of the RS "Paris and the Loire" tour. He is really good at what he does and made us feel like we were re-living the battles. I would definitely recommend him.
Jeff - A one day tour was enough for me but you'll have to answer that for yourself based on your interest level and time available.
