electronics/plugs

Going on a Berlin, Prague, Vienna tour. What do I need to recharge an ipod and digital camera battery? I know I need an adaptor plug, but not sure if I need a convertor as well. Does Prague require a different plug? First time travelling with electronic devices!

Linda -

Target has a converter set with I think 4 different types for different parts of Europe. They're not expensive, so I'd pick up one of those, pack the whole set, and you're sure to have what you need. I took the set to Paris and Italy, and had everything I needed - and we used them to recharge our ipods and our cameras - worked great.

Linda,

This question seems to occur quite frequently here. You might find it helpful to do a search, or check some of the replies at www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm/rurl/topic/20765/the-right-adaptorconverter.html as it may help you.

As I mentioned in my other replies, you need to check the Input Voltage ratings on EACH of the devices you'll be taking. Also, be clear on the difference between Plug Adaptors and Voltage Converters.

Cheers!
